Here at Rock Water Ranch our goal is to provide a good time for each and every person or group that visits us. That begins with good old hospitality and a safety meeting! That's right folk, our guides will go over safety with you and your group. This is one thing we can't ignore. Please listen to your guide!
Our Mission
At Rock Water Ranch, we strive to offer the “bed and breakfast” or “country club” experience to your hunting vacation stay with us. It is our goal for you to enjoy your hunt, your food, your stay, your overall experience.
Lodging Facilities
Lodging in our custom-built lodge on the ranch with a total of 4 rooms & a total of 24 person capacity now. Each room has six twin-sized beds (3 built-in bunks) with private night light, electrical outlet, and shelf for a phone. We provide all bedding and towels.
We serve breakfast, lunch, appetizers and dinner all cooked by us here on site. We incorporate wild game whenever we can. Please let us know of any food allergies. We provide water, soft drinks, beer, and wine. We offer a pool table, dartboard, poker table, TV, misc games and a fire pit for your relaxation and entertainment. We are also working on a pond for fishing as well.
African Safari
The Eastern Cape of South Africa is a very special place. It has become our home away from home. A trip of a lifetime that you will take more than once in a lifetime!
Each year we embark on another trip to visit and hunt with our dear friends at John X Safaris. We have been taking Rock Water Ranch guests and friends since 2018. Currently we offer trips in their prime hunting season of March through August and then again on their late season of September and October.
All trips to those locations are accompanied by local licensed guides that the business is friendly with.
GUIDED FISHING IN MEXICO
If you are an avid fisherman, you'll love our guided fishing trips in Mexico. The fish are always biting in Puerto Vallarta, and the sun is always shining. Join us for an unforgettable experience out at sea.
All trips to those locations are accompanied by local licensed guides that the business is friendly with.
TEXAS HUNTING
We can't forget the bountiful hunting trips in our home state of Texas! Our lodge will accommodate you as we take you and the group hunting for wild deer and boar on our ranches in Texas.
About Your Guides
Tim's professional background is in custom home construction. Austin and Connor helped with this, but that is not the business they wanted to work together forever. Tim's wonderful wife Lori suggested buying a hunting ranch. At first, they thought she was kidding around, but no, she was serious. The family started the search almost immediately for the right piece of property.
July 31st, 2017 Tim and his family closed on the loan to purchase the property and fence for Rock Water Ranch. They started work on the fence the next day and the lodge shortly thereafter. After a lot of hard work, they were able to have a few hunters use the ranch for day hunts starting September through December and then we were able to open full operations with the lodge opening January 1st, 2018!
Your Guides
Our guides take you to and from your hunting area. They do not sit with you in the blind, but they do hunt with you on the midday spot and stalk hunts. They skin and quarter your game and store it in our walk-in cooler until loading it in your coolers when you leave. They do the cooking sometimes and definitely hang out with you. We build friendships, not client lists!
Unlimited Hogs
That's right we include unlimited hogs in our all inclusive trips. Our annual average is around four hogs per person. Some get more, some less. It is hunting. We hunt from blinds 3 evening hunts, 3 morning hunts and midday spot and stalk with a guide when time allows. Usually once a day per guest.
Although we offer unlimited hogs, we do ask that you be courteous to your other hunters and our staff as well by taking only ethical shots. Spraying lead into a group of hogs may be fun, but it isn't ethical. Usually very few hogs shot this way are recovered because the shot placement is such that it doesn't knock the hogs down. We find most of the hogs shot this way a week or two later when they actually die. This is unnecessary suffering for the hogs and a waste of the meat. Also you will walk up on hogs decaying in the woods which is no fun either and a lot more work for the guides to remove.
